I don't realy modify my menu that much, but I think its time for a big time makeover, for speed and all that.
Well I was just wondering what your rightclick&leftclick mouse menu's look like, I'v allready taken care of the shortcut key's.
Screenshot's would be most helpfull, thanks all.

Hello
Weird fact, I dont really use the mouse- menues at all. I dont know why , but they are not fitting my personaly workflow.
I modified my interface a lot though (I know it is no good to do this, if you plan to work at other places). I made my interface very similar to the old 5.6, especially in Modeler. I added a few new folders to get room for all the new tools. I tried to keep it as logical as possible (at least for my personal logic). I also got completely rid of the "detail"- folder.
I did not modify Layout that much, but did a few changes as well. As I always saved my Menue- Layouts and reload them after every update, I have troubles remembering what the LW- menue originally looked like ;-)
I could provide it, if people are interested, but I have to warn you, that it might feel weird for many other users (it is my personal logic, you know).

I used the menithings settings and then further cutomized them to my taste.

Here's the link to their settings.

The reason I'm interested in the LMB&RMB is that I'v been playing around with wings 3d lately and have grown quite fond of the workflow, mainly because it forced me to use it, which put me off at first but once I got use to it, I found myself moving along at a hell of a pace compared to my workflow in LW.
I'v used max and maya and yea they have their versions, but wings3d just felt quicker, and Lightwaves version of this feature seems the nearest to it.
Funny I'v never realy used the mouse menu's much at all in lightwave because at first glance they seem too klunky and looked as if they'd be more of a hinderance to my flow than a help, silly me.
thanks wing's:shrug:

Loganarts-

That Batman rocks....looks like it's based on Simon Bisely's art work!

Dang it logan, I really want to do that too

Layout is fine for now but I want to speed things up in modeler

I still have not figured out how to do this

I've come back to LightWave after a very long break (4 years) and I'm still trying to get used to everything new.

I figure, once you get used to the tools you use often and what context you use them in, the custom menus will form in your mind.

That's the best time to go all out and make your Mother-of-all-custom-menus.

LMB & RMB sounds good to me. Nothing like good music to work to.

:p

Is there any way to arrange it so you do not have to click ctrl + shift, just the mouse

Seriously, LW experts, is there any way to arrange it so you do not have to click ctrl + shift, just the mouse

I do not see why not ... currently the right mouse button does noting and the middle mouse allows you to select with a marque type tool but I dont mind changing that to shift + middle mouse button

Nope.

That kind of function would have to be 'built in' -- as far as I know, it's hardwired to be "shift-ctrl" and mouse.

And the right mouse button does do things, you're just not using it that way.

Also, the middle mouse button does more than just the marquee select.

It's more than just changing a preference in the config file.

Sorry.

I think my MS Strategic Commander could do that... Might even handle the mouse clicks too. That'd be bitchin! Might try that tonight.
