is there a place to ask about bugs in lightwave?

when you start to really push the program, undoubtedly you run into the strange bugs that you have no idea why they happen.

currently i'm experiencing a bug where i save a morph target in a object, and it kills the ability to load the scene with that object.

hub is running usually.. turn it on turn it off doens't make a difference the scene still dies.

anyone else hit this type of problem where a morph target stops a scene from loading.

i removed the morphs from the object, and then loaded the scene..
bingo..it loads.

put back the morph targets..
the scene hangs when trying to load that object.

It's a weird bug and may be network related (relative mapped paths vs network paths or local paths)

not really looking for a solution, just trying to find out if it's a common bug or not.

lw 7.5 latest patch.

Hm i don't have any problem with morphs...
But i have random crashes - especially then i clear the scene or load some new scene after working with something heavy. Also i have some crashes using graph editor - then i move or zoom to keys.
I mast say that my LightWave was working mach better with NT - it's crashes maybe ones or two in week and with Win2K ones or two in the day !
( i still work with LW 7.0b on my work - dual PIII 800 1024 NVRAM GVX1, and 7.5 at home dual PIII 1000 512 SDRAM GVX1-
the reason that we still under 7.0b at work - we working on some big project and jumping to new version is not so safety, also f*****g Butterfly Net Render not so good working with 7.5)
Bdw did any one have some bugs with Modeler? Looks like all problems in Layout :)

Hello
That Endomorph- Problem occured to me too, but mainly with LW6.x, cant remember having problems like these with LW7.x...
Anyway, what I found out was:
Morphmixer does not like you to add to many new Morphmaps or new groups, while it is active in the scene (Hub activated). Remove morphmixer and then replace the object with the one with the new endomorphs. It also seems to get unstable when there are to many endomorphs within the same group, or even worse with no group at all (wich makes them appear under miscellanious in MM). So watch out to group your endomorphs nicely. If your scene fails to load, open it with notepad and remove the morphmixer from the scene manually. So you can get it to load again. Usually it will work well then, even if you readd morphmixer again afterwards.
Hope that helps.

hey E_Moelzer

that is the problem exactly.
And that was the solution, remove all endomorphs, make newones in one group.
=)

thank you =)

Hello Pete!
I also had success with simply renaming, or copiing the Vertexmaps (and renaming them in the copy- requester), then removing the old ones. That could save you from redoing them completely(so no guaranty on my side that this wll always work).
