Here's a pose-to-pose walk assignment I'm currently working on. My goal is to make him look like he is above all, nose up, cocky, arrogant etc...
The upper body is still a bit stiff cuz there's no delay in the bones, and there's some knee popping, but what do you guys think so far?

Well right now he's in a mix of a dreamy stroll state, and that cockyness you're looking for. With his head that far back, and eyes in the clouds he looks like his mind is out there too... but a cocky person is usually making sure everyone knows who he is, so his nose might be way up there, but his eyes will be eyeing everyone going, that's right i'm better than you...

I would also try giving him more of a smirk, something like he's laughing to himself inside after looking at some guy digging for change to buy a hot dog and thinking to himself, "Haaa... I've got enough money in my spair change pocket to go buy a new car"

As far as the animation it self, I see the places you were talking about with the stiffness and the popping in the knees... You also need to fix the feet because they are slamming down after the heel connects to the ground... You might also want to keep a bit of that stiffness so that he is doing more of a strut than a walk...

Well hope this helps :)

Hey thanks for the reply!
In regards to:

"You also need to fix the feet because they are slamming down after the heel connects to the ground..."

That's the point isn't it? I mean the heel hits and then the toe right? I'm not sure what you mean. :)
I do agree about the whole dreamy thing, I thought about it also. I didn't really make any facial animation yet, I just posed his face temporarily so I'll still work on that. I also agree about keeping some stiffness in there.

Aggg.... lol, I had posted but the servers were busy :(

Ok, let me do it again, uh... oh yeah, I remember what I had said now, right now it looks like the feet are snapping into place, as if some one was turning on a magnent and boom, it's now attached to the ground...

If you got up right now, and walked with a strut, your feet wouldn't snap they way they are in that scene, they would flow down more, but with a force coming from the upper body, so in other words, there would be less heel to toe action going on, because the heel would only be slightly lower than the toes when it met the ground, and then the rest of the foot would meet up with it... :)
