when it asks about the licences it asks if it is going to be personal or commercial, now i am just starting out really, so it will be personal, but if i get good at it, then i will be using it for our family bussiness, so what shall i put? Does commercial make it more expensive?

Also i am looking at getting the training DVD, because i can get 50%, is it worth getting these?

Damn i can't wait to get started on this:)

I think it's for their internal database (and eventually for the billing type in certain nations), just to know what markets they are getting interest from and to tailor offers and upcoming events accordingly.

just answer earnestly, the price shouldn't change.

for more reliable informations though you should contact sales@softimage.com

IMO, They totally worth it. They have in depth coverage of some topics that you won´t find in the manual.

I caught myself saying "oooooohhh! So that's how it's done" out loud several times while watching the DVDs.

Ok well i ordered it today as well as the DVD's, and to say i am excited is an understatement. No more trailer CD's for me! lol

I am sure i will be saying exactly the samething "So thats how you do it"

the only thing is, is that when i ordered straight from Softimages website, it said please allow 7-10days for it to be shipped from the factory, have i really got to wait that long to get it, and is it shipped from the states?
Because if it is, then i will probably have to pay import tax which is stupid, because i phoned a reseller today and they wanted 320 pounds but they didn't dot he DVD deal!

It ships from Canada I believe, mine did and it sat in customs. Approx 6 days from the time I placed the order to holding it in my hands.

When I ordered Foundation last year (the DVD set was included free at the time) I recieved a confirmation email a couple of days later. In that email I also recieved a license key and a link to download XSI. I was up and running! The parcel showed up about a week later.

A note about the DVDs. Make sure you have a computer-type DVD ROM or Writer drive since the DVDs cannot playback in a normal DVD player hooked up to your television.

I would suggest first do the tutorials and later on when you have a basic knowledge of the software and how it works, then watch the DVD´s.

Customs fee and Handling to UPS for leaving Canada and entering the US. I think it was around $35.

I'm from Germany and I got my package from Ireland. The usual shipping costs were applied and the local taxes for sales in Germany (16% at the moment), thats a total of 520 EUR.
