View Full Version : Wolverine
antzzor 03-08-2005, 09:54 AM Hello there
This is a model of the character Wolverine that I'm currently working on. My good friend Johan Wahlbäck who ia a very skilled comic book artist did the design. I've been vorking on this model for a while now and I'm quite pleased with the way it's looking the arms and legs will get a lot more detail though. I'm working in 3ds max and I'm problably going to use the skinmorph modifier a lot when I skin him to try and get in alot of the mouscle movement.
C&C very welcome!
thanks:)

wow.. hes solid. Great
Things that strike me as a bit weird is the overlly intense neck and the lenght vs thinkness of the arms..
keep it up though.. its surely getting there.

Have to agree. The arms do look long and the neck is wierd. I know you want muscle but i don't think that the neck can get like that.
Overall good job so far.

His traps are still waaaayyyy too big. And I think the above mentioned arm issue stems from the relationship in length between the upper and lower arm.

yeah I'll problably make them a bit smaller but I do think it looks cool to have them really big even if it's not all that realistic:). And you're ptoblably right about the arms too gonna' do a lot more work on them now and give him some hands as well.

i like his face, and the expression - verx evil & angry like!
but the body proportions as already mentioned are not correct, something seems to be wrong..arms to long and the legs to short
keep this up

very nice all up, however i think the back isn't as built up as the chest - lots like the back of a skinny man, not a superhero, especially if the chest is that built and the shoulders are that broad. Speaking of which, with those HUGE neck muscles, wouldn't the shoulders also have to be more muscluar to support them?
wicked tho'.

I've done some work on the back and I'm now working on his arms. Also I'll problably make the neck muscles smaller although I do like having them real big! :) I'll problably have an updated image done soon.

Overall, nice modeling job; but he does look too wide to me as well.

Really nice musculature.
I think the hip to waste ratio is a little off. Try making the waist about 25 to 30% narrower.
Other then that... awesome start!

I think the head is looking pretty good. He has alot of character. I'm not much behind his body proportions though. I think you should slim him a bit, especially the waist. you could probably lengthen the torso and legs just a little too.
thats my personal pref though, so take it or leave it.
keep it up!

The musculature and solidity of the model are coming along quite well, as others have mentioned. There are a few areas that could use some tweaking, however.
I would lengthen the torso, which looks extremely wide in relation to the body at the moment, especially with those monstrous traps. He is a superhero, but I think you could take the relative width of his chest area down a few notches. Looks like he's part flying squirrel at the moment. :)
The pelvis looks strange from the back as well. His butt should probably stick back out a bit more, as it looks like the crack just runs straight up his back at the moment. Could be that the hips and pelvis just need a bit more volume / mass to them.
Excellent start. Look forward to seeing this progress.
