View Full Version : telescopic IK?

I'm rigging a characters spring 'leg' that is simply 2 cyclinders, one inside the other that need to compress up inside the body.

I've playing with 2 bones and tying the top of the leg to the bone root and the end to the 2nd bone, then the bone leg is controlled with an Ik handle.

Because the bone rotates, I'm not sure how to get the translation value from the bone end to the IK handle, or even how to bring this into the leg setup...

Any suggestions? Is there a better way too go with telescopic stuff??

Here's kind of what I mean, but in Lightwave
