Hello, I am having some problems rigging a character's leg.I know how to rigg a normal IK leg setup and have seen some pretty good tutorials but none of the tutorials or my own rigs have a Knee Target capability (also known as an Up Vector in some other programs).

How can I rigg a leg so that the thigh bone will point at a target Null object, thereby giving the animator control of how the knee is pointing?

You can add a small bone at the knee and assign it to a knee goal.
Another thing you can do is to leave one of the bone channels set to fk and use that
to rotate the direction of the knee manually.

Hey, thanks.

I am also studying bone setup on knee. I have tried to use RV Orient and make a setup on the knees... but the knee vector is a bit arkward as the knee vector only works behind the knees... not the in front of. of course the knees are twisted when place the vector in front of.

Can anyone teach me how this would be?
