Probably avi but it depends the codec your card can capture as.

I think I would capture it in as full frame uncompressed. The video is about 90mins and i am also worried about it fitting on to a 4.7g data dvd. I am woundering if a MPEG2 file would be better for that reason.

i think 90 minutes of uncompressed footage at 720*486 - 30fps (NTSC) would be about 170 gigs. somebody I'm sure will correct me if i'm wrong, but whatever it is, it's not gonna fit on a dvd. I think PAL has the same bitrate seeing as how the lower frame rate and higher resolution balance eachother out, but I could be wrong about that. If you aren't worried about playing it on a dvd player, i'd actually use something other than mpeg2, though you're probably limited by how you can capture.
