This huge canon reminds me of Ironman (in the fighting game :)

There's something strange... his finger is 'pointing' to the left... and those planes are following the canon direction (by the way... what are those planes ? Hell fighters ? :p )

hey dude,
sigma's right the jets dont fit here.
futuristic/gothic blend nicely.the dude reminds me of prince arthur.
colors convey mood very well.
the cannon could be treated to be more stylish, may be a little more reflective like the pipe which sticks out at it's side.

nice image! i like the jets, they could be a little more futristic looking, but they add a sense that youre looking at a war and not just a random fight scene. this could be the bassis for a cool heaven vs hell image.

Yeah, I kind of hesitated before i put them in, but eventually i just said screw it, and decided to take a bit of a risk and stick them in the BG....I wanted to add some kind feeling that this angel character was leading some modern day humans into some sort of apocolyptic battle or something. Withhis finger pointing like that i thought maybe he is giving orders to someone. "Go Puny humans! Kill! Destroy! hahah Also, i purposley made the jets a little retro....kind of cold war era.

Anyway, good feedback everyone, hopefully this will make my next one better!

I actually got the feeling that the figure is a "Sky Commander" and he is up at the front lines, commanding the jets which way to attack (as they fly past.) In that case, the planes would be flying in the right direction (banking towards where he is pointing...) And I do not find that they are too distracting... maybe could use some refining, but not too much. Maybe just a little more "atmosphere" in front of them.

I don't know. This time I just don't agree with the critsl. I think this is an awesome pic. Very unique. I like the jets in the background, maybe they're on the same side as the angel. They also add a little extra depth to the image. Anyway, Great comp and lighting! Great style! and Great painting! I love it.

Beautiful palette, excellent work!
I love the angelic quality of the image but while the colors and obviously the wings match that setting/mood, all the armour seems slightly out of place. Perhaps less armour, bare feet, I don't know, something to tie the figure better in w/ his means of flight. I feel that he is an archangel fighting on Judgement day. Perhaps a piece of the contrasting warrior, an armoured demon would be fantastic. They could also replace the rockets in the background. I can see a much larger piece here.

wow that is so epic looking! i love the jets actually, it adds to the scifi/fantasy aspect. i mean c'mon he's got some sort of powered armor on and a huge gun! it's already a scifi mix. awesome feeling you have caught, like he's leading a strike force. great stuff and i love the colors too. really adds to the environment.
