Quick question.

I have an old PC it is a Windows Me
I bought it year 2000
Pentium III
19 GB space harddrive
864 Mhz
127MB RAM
Built in Intel 82810E graphics controller

I hope this is enought information.

I already have a Mac that I use for Photoshop, Video Editing, and at school Maya, but I want a PC for some PC games that Mac does not have,
and also to use 3D studio Max. That is all I would use it for. Games mostly.

I have a small budget, so I was thinking if getting a good Video card and 256MB more RAM could make it run the PC games and maybe 3D studio Max. Would upgrading my computer be enough or is it so old and slow that at this point it be a better investment to buy a new one? Your thoughts please.
And if yes a new one what Specs do you recommend? Thank you!

you'll have to buy a new comp; the one you have is too old for any upgrades i'm afraid...

as always it all depends on your budget, so it's hard to talk about any details not knowing how much you can spend on it, but i'd suggest something like A64 3500+ s.939, 1gb ddr, gf6800gt (or better yet radeon x800 xl which is cheaper but as fast as 6800gt; if that's too expensive then get gf6600gt), 160-200gb hdd, nforce3 (or nf4 if you can afford it) mobo.

Yeah I thought I would have to buy a new one.
I already have a keyboard, mouse, game controller and monitor, so all I have to do is get the CPU...
I could spend hopefully 1000 - ...2000 max. right now.
thanks

I would built one myself, you'll save cash and it will be just as you want it.

yeah I'd look at www.newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/) and www.tigerdirect.com (http://www.tigerdirect.com/) and build one from scratch. New egg has great shipping options and cheep as parts as anywhere. Tiger is sometimes lower but there shipping is a bit steep but somtimes they have a deal that makes it worth it. Only suckers buy from shops.

You can build an Athlon64 3500+ system with a Geforce 6600GT and 1GB ram on a Nforce4 SLI for around $1100 after including all the little extra things that you will need..

Hope you keep your old monitor tho :)
