Title: Lonely Lady Lava
Name: Sil Ariaans
Country: Netherlands
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay

This is the first basic mesh of the "lady" I modeled in 3ds max in 2003. Back then I rendered her in Vue d'Esprit with Lava, but wasn't happy with the lava-texture, so I wanted to render her in 3ds max in a different scene with other lava and other pose again. I modeled now a dress for her too. The hairmesh is from 3Dream.

I like her pose. But her skin shader... is it reflective?? It looks weird. Piece overall is good though.

I think that the skin is too reflective and there is no tone to it. It just seems all one color. The lighting seems about right for the effect you are trying to create. Overall nicely done!

Thanks Wybl, The Greenmachine and NauticaC for the comments! :)
I used for this render the skin-texture that I got from a tutorial I followed long ago and saved in my library, with specle parameters of smoke and splat maps. I only added some more specularity as the skin seemed a little too dark for me and I liked to give a more sweaty/warm impression. I have to admit that maybe I should've scaled the texture(?) The reflection you talk about is caused I think by the global illumination of Vray... I didn't add reflectivity to the skin.
Render took several hours... I'll do a search for some skin-textures/tutorials for future renders :). Thanks!!

Your welcome :)

I wouldn't change anything because after a second glance the reflections aren't that bad. The render flows together nicely. Glad we could help :)
