Hello,

I'm using mental ray for a architectural still rendering, and I'm geting mixed results.
Does any one know the proper settings and ratios for a photon radius, in conjuction to final gather settings. I know the FG settings are suposed to be 10 % of scene size for max radius etc... I can't seem to get a crisp image know matter what I do, large or small radii, more samples, less samples. I just need a point in the right direction.

Try leaving radius to 0 - that sets the radius automatically based on the # of photons, so they get smaller as you add more photons.

The GI by itself will still be a little blotchy even when you get it right, though, until you turn on Final Gathering to smooth it out.
