it is quite simple!
create the pyramid primitive. convert to poly-object by pressing 'c'. take the knife and cut some pixels (15 or so) on the inner edge along the edge. cut about 15 pixels above the bottom edge. simplify the polygons as seen in the above picture.
extrude the polygons of the standing-area about 7 pixels downwards and scale it on x and z axis about 3 to 5 pixels.
throw it in a hyper-nurbs container.
that's it.:wavey:

oh you'll like this one sad, in R8, all you need do is make the pyramid editable, select all edges, hold down "." slide your mose over to the right a bit, drop it in an HN and your done. no modeling actually required :) and its always adjustable see.

I am so going to love that, I'm tired of hyper nurbs putting polys on a flat plane.
Personally, right now I think I'd do someting similar to sad's method but without the nurbs. Just spend a little extra time cutting and scaling the edges.

SuperNURBS also handles this reasonably well also!

you know I don't know if anyone has tried that, so can't really say. will see what i can find out and whether I would be alowed to say or not., the biuggestadvantage of this over supernurbs (which could definitely do it easily) is that you don't have to change tools or modes, just while your edge or point is selected hold down "." and away you go fully interactive realtime feedback too.
