View Full Version : rustboy
geoffr 09-19-2002, 01:29 PM just to let everybody know that the rustboy site now has a forum so you can post brian about it.
i know that it's not c4d but it goes to show all of us what can be achieved with a great idea and vision rather than having to rely on what program one's using.
if you don't know it, check it out. you'll like it:

i wish it was mine but, alas, no.
i've been visiting the site regularly for about a year now. he gives great insights and tips on how he does things (see the leaves on the tree tip).
there was an article on him at the apple web site (uk site i think) and there's a download of a nice compilation of the completed scenes.

he had a really good way of doing trees and leaves but I cant find it any more. Using spheres, leave brushes and alpha channels... worth looking for, not that I ever put it to use.

Its funny to see apple jump on his band wagon now that he has done all the hard work they swoop in for some token glory:surprised

Infini-D has now become Carrara. It was an old metacreations package as I recall...

Once apon a time it was The software of choice amongst 3D people... it was cheap and can do good stuff. Look at rustboy! Oh, it is no more in production.

many moons aga i had to choose which 3d program to buy at work for a project. i had already used infini-d but i decided to go for cinema 4d.
glad i did!
it's nice to see someone doing such good 3d on a mac.
as you all know, mac users are very loyal to their platform of choice. i read in various places (mainly postforum) about which machine is best for 3d. sure, the pc is probably best, but i love my mac and i don't think i'll ever give it up. that's why i like rustboy. he had a choice to move to a more up to date program but he's stuck with the one he loves.
the tears are welling up now. got to go.
