I have read all the previous threads on solving the issue where a render "prepares" for what seems like forever. I have a large number of particles in my scene, which i have baked, the threshold is set to 15, and the LOD is set to 80 and cache shadow maps is on but when i go to render, it still takes an insanely long time to prepare. Also, there are no Hypernurbs in the scene.
Two questions: First, is there anything i need to do after baking the particles to speed things up? Like turn off the emitter or anything (the only thing that apparently changed after i baked was that a bake particles tag was added to the emitter). And Second, is there any other way to get around this preparing file issue? If i turn off the particles the scene renders fine, but i need them and thought that baking them would help.
thanks in advance!
