I like your style a lot Janine. I'd like to see the rest of the image. What program did you use? Great job:thumbsup:

Thanks! :) I use Cinema 4D (and Bodypaint 3D for the textures). There's another rendering on my homepage at www.3dluvr.com/janine which shows the rest of the model. And I definately want to do some more renderings and maybe even improve the model.

Very nice

Love her hair, how did you do that? Is it polygons or a hair plugin? Struggling to make decent hair for my own character at the mo...

any plans for an animation? Couple of somersaults between the laser beams would look so cool :)

The hair is polygons, but I have some other renderings of her where I used a hair plugin. And sooner or later I will try to animate her. But I'm not sure about the somersaults... :p

I was just looking at your site - nice work - Your "LATEST TUTORIAL" - on your "resourses" page had caught my eye a while back on 3dluvr.com - quite impressive  - however the link off your site did not work for me - and I now see that 3dluvr.com have greatly changed their site --- is there another link to the tutorial? or could you post it on your site? :)

Awesome model. I really like the style. Just the right amount of realism and cartoonish. Kinda like a hybrid anime. Good work.

Really awesome model!
I like everything about it, the style, the lighting, the modelling, the hair, the eyes, the pose, it's all so well done!

Janine,

This work is the proper use of the tool!!!!

I mean, I`m fed off with the photorealistic attempts, this what I like.

Go on!

And another comment. It`s a new proof that the artist counts not the tool. Cinema 4d is not the best known, best spreaded 3d solution, with artists like you, it will be much stronger!

Her suit looks more metal than rubber, maybe you could make with low spec and gloss, and throw on a little bump map on there.

Really great model. Did u use a clipping map or transparency map to cut out the hair from the polygons?

Hi JohnD,

thanks :) The hair texture has a soft alpha channel.

I LOVE the texture, not PR not cel shade but the best of both worlds. This is exactly what I wanted for my new models I'm building. Perfect way to help envision what I'm after. Any more good images to gander at?

The only critical comment I would have is that the nostrils look more like indentations than holes, with that said its a great image well built and modern in its presentation but still with a 50's retro feel to both the design and the character with the perky nose and freckles. Very nice job.
