gee in five year, heck most of the files I have done I might as well just start from scrath, would be alot easier than fixing that crap I did. I dod have all my stuff on cD's though, love to go thru them now and then, hmm maybe once the new site is up I should make a small gallery of peoples old stuff from whenthey started using C4D.

Nice one mate,
Id only say the sand looks like it's wet maby, could be a bit lighter, more yellow's/golds.
and the and castle could use a mound of sand as a foundation like the child started from a small lump.
just some idears,
mike.

maybe its just me but the dolly(is this the right word?) is too high, imo. tho nice overall image, nz on a overcast day just after the rain :P
maybe try more darker clouds, to match the sand ? i dont know, never been to nz

hey really nice one stu, although i think the light in the scene has to be a little more blueish according to the sky.

Definitely show before and after
blueish... depends on the latitude?... i think the image looks a bit overcast for it being such a nice sunny day... i think it needs some lovely bright warm sun shining on everything :) and a bit of candyfloss of course :)
Ok guys I will see if I can find before, and I will try and add some of the new ideas as well:thumbsup:
The differences are I used Mdme_Sadies sun lighting trick.I tweaked the textures some and I also used more bevelling on the Castle and the bucket and the shovel. The thing I was finding hard was getting a decent plastic material that looked a little shiny yet also worn, but then again I didnt experient to much with the reflection...doh!! :)

Your landscapes are great!
Have you ever considered using a sun-light?
Thanks Adrian :D
If I remember rightly sun light uses hard shadows :hmm:

increase the shadow map size in the sunlights settings to get a more defined shadow while still retaining some softness.

Or area shadows, or Softshadows with a really highquality map like say 2000x2000

Hey Stu how many of your works have castles?:p
Hahahaa...about as many that have buckets :scream:
Nah I have 2 Castles thats all.Why Castles?,because the modelling is a real challenge I find :D
I am also working on an alleyway I made a while ago.....with no Castle:thumbsup:
Stu.
For the Sun I have the 5 omnis of 30% all with soft shadow and a little apart.Would a sunlight object work better?
Stu.
Finished the beach pic

looking good
you could add some sand/grit to the spade handle etc, and the bucket, you know ? how sand gets wet, sticks to somthing, drys, stays there...
so thats the 5 omni lights in the final or a sun object ?
Thats 5 omnis :)
Now I am sick of it again :D .....it will probably resurface in a couple of months again retweaked once more :D
