Wow, is really my granpa a little like Gerri? Thanx, that's a great complimet !
I don't know why for me visualize, draw and model an old man is an hard work... :shame:

I'm slowly going on; in these days I'm very busy, so this isn't a great update. More someting like "body parts flying around" :p

that's some pretty nice modelling. Like it very much. Can't wait to see it rigged&posed.

Rot

Hi guys !
Thanks a lot for all yours encouraging words.

- Otacon: about arms you were completly right, so I decided to shorten about 15%. But these damn arms looks long EVEN NOW :surprised By the way: LOL
- Stipen: uh... Telling the truth I started this thread thinking about somthing like an old Tony hawk with wheelchair, but a frien said me:Oh no Rot, it's too much cynic !!! So I changed my mind... (but I'm still undecided; I feel my decision isn't the right one )
- Haim: All the pieces are separated mesh. I think it's confortable work with only a few small object on screen.

I did less than I hoped to do - it'isn'y a perfect world - but I guess it's enough to update this thread.
I worked on some refinements, on the slippers and I started the competitor - a tough one, belive me !
PS: yes, I cloned old man's legs and arms; it's juast a tiny short cut ;)

- Virtuoso, Otacon, Rizob: thanks a lot, guys. It's always a pleasure read your opinions!
Even if I think you 're too much gentle
- Atmos_Fear: LoL My athlete shall be ready. Tell me only where and when !!! (I think it'll be the fight of XXI Century)

Here is a little update, as usual: I started to study rigging and posing and modeled glasses, socks and the stick...

Awesome! Kung fu grandpa.:D I like the glasses....and i think his right leg in that bottom pic looks kinda weird...like it popped out of socket. But all else looks good...keep going.

hi rot, really good modeling !!:applause:
did u use any skinning before you put your man in position ?
our did your turn all the poly, one by one ?

Rot
10-05-2002, 04:49 PM
Thanks ! guys, you're too much for me !!!

- Erik: Yes, I skinned my poly mesh with a very fast (and inaccurate :annoyed: ) rig, and than I posed it.
But now to refine I've to freeze the mesh and adjust a lot of detail.
- Otacon: why Kung-fu? mmmh... I think I'm going to do some shots with this athlete trying some kung fu tecnique: Atmos' old man will not have an easy way to win the match :)
About the hip, you're right... I've to fix it !!!

Rot

Here is a little update !

- Stipen: I've alredy shorten these damn arms, when Otacon told me, but it seems not enough :shame:
But, after your advise, I decided to make old man's forarms even shorter (and thinner): I hope now he looks better !
- Delapouite: ahah ! thanks ! Telling the truth, it's a standar texture, so mine isn't a work of great merit :)
- Otacon: I love that T-shirt too, but here, where I live, I can't find it anywhere :annoyed:
- Levin: Ahahah !!! SUPER-LOL
Thanks guy, that's the idea I need ! :applause:
I think I'm going to change direction and starting to model an indoor enviorment !
Now the matter is: PS2 or NGC? and what kind of videogame is he playing?

About this update:
- I started to refine the second character mesh, but now all this work is usless
- I fix some little problem with my old man. But, DAMN !, why do not Maya render Fur?

You show us a good modelling skills, and I like the detail very much.:buttrock:
...but on the running old man toes of back foot are wrong (may be its must be higher...(sorry, I can't explain in English))
I like the faces - its are realy individual :bounce:

It'd be sweet if you had a piece of toilet paper hanging out the back of the old man's pants or stuck to his shoe:rolleyes:
