View Full Version : THE COMIC STRIP! :The Damned - Shorts
The Damned 03-03-2005, 12:20 PM This is one of those topic thats sounds so good in my head and I have so many ideas and images but tends not to work on paper due to my inherent lack of talent.
Anyway...
As a starter I had an idea for a character that has no super-powers and cant even move...
Good start you say... well it's only for a 3/4 windowed strip...
JUST GO WITH ME HERE...
IDEA 1: The Adventures of a conscious Scarecrow (called Steve)....

I've gotta say, this idea has potential! By 3/4 windowed strip, do you mean 1 panel per comic like The Far Side?
Lots that you can do with a scarecrow who's staked into the ground. He's an objective observer and can tell stories to crows so they don't think of eating the farmer's corn. He can give advice to the farm animals. He can also heckle the farmer.
Are you evaluating Idea #2, 3 and 4? :)

I knew a guy named Steve once. Now that I think about it, he did kind of look like a scarecrow.
Sounds like a neat idea, so let's hope you can pull it off! :)

Thanks for the positive input guys.
I'm thinking that I'll do 3 to 4 windows per strip... However, my speed isnt exactly lightening and I can only do it in the office so I'm not even sure if I will be able to complete the 5 strip required.
Ilikesoup: The other ideas were sort of different avenues to explore but again I dont think I have the potential to do them.
One was the misadventures of a postman, the other a useless deamon slayer, and the third errrm was... well I cant remember now.
Anyway, here is the first setting for Steve... Bit scrappy but I think it will have to do for these until I can learn to make nicer lines.
