Hello,
Satellite Rendering is kewl, but to set it up for each machine all the time is tiresome when not using a dedicated farm, especially moving to the user-directory and editing the file. As I recall, XSI pointed to itīs rayhosts-file in both a .ini (.rarc ? ) AND a set of environment-variables.
I thought it was MI_RAY_HOSTSFILE, but I donīt get the feeling maya looks there.
Anyone knowing how these were called, if they work with maya and if I can set them to a single network-drive ???
Also, are there more democratic Mray-solutions around ??? Apart from a firewall, wich tends to crash the rendering altogether, I have not found any way to take individual machines out of the machine pile...
