This is my animation reel, definiately a work in progress. I'm trying to get an internship, just used this one for inteview and I think it needs a little work before the next.

Any and all criticisms and comments would be GREATLY appreciated, feel free to nitpick, PLEASE feel free to get specific as much as possible- I really want to clean up my animation!

Hee, first the animation with the guy looking up at that block. You should make him act a little more. When he's just looking up, you could make him scratch his head or touch his chin. The audience should see he's thinking about a solution to reach whats on top of the box. His current pose is to weak to make this clip work.
Next the monkey model. When his mouth moves, his teeth are coming through the skin.
The walkcycle is ok, only there's a lot of head movement. Some slight adjustment should do...
the rest of the reel is pretty good, especially the clay figures. I also like the bananaship.
Good luck with getting an internship, I hope this helpes you.

i think the stuf with your block guys should go first its your best stuff. other than that it looks pretty good. where did you go for your first interview?

droidoz- thank you for your crits, I am working on the jumping clip and will repost. I agree its too static...will see if i can breathe more life into it. i focused on the jump sequence for a school project and then threw the rest in. needs much polishing.

horns- thank you. it was a company making children's tv for pbs, they seemed pretty enthusiastic...except it turns out they're outsourcing most of the 3d to canada...so my job would be clean-up or emergency fixes or something. im looking elsewhere now.

Ideally I want an internship doing character animation...or modeling. harder to find that it seems. I'm looking in the NYC area. Unfortunately most of the major film studios don't do internships because their software is proprietary and the learning curve doesn't make internships sensible...among legal issues, i suppose.
I won't take it unless I can't find anything doing character animation.

NYC. Im going to be returning back to New England soon and doing the same thing you are i guess. looking for a job/intership. I'm looking more in the Boston MA area. as well as CT and NY.
