hi.. i`m trying so hard to learn the hardest of 3d.. texturing...

i need to reproduce the following
no i only need help at those damn 4 round things..
basicly i made a poly cylinder exrtuded it twice at the top...
now... i had in mind 2 ways:
1. subdivide it VERY much and start applying the texture on each face.
2. draw a texture wich i failed.. cuz when i mapped it it distrorted it.. i dont know why...

i would be gratefuill for every help.. that is the actuall texture .. if someone can quickly draw it in photoshop.. or some insight on how the heck i can do it :(
thanks

Sounds like you need to learn about mapping. Consult your softwares user manual. They usually cover the basics quite well.

Like Ian said check the manuals or find a quick UV mapping tutorial. It looks like your cylinder is really tall and your texture, which I'm assuming is a square, is being stretched. You're going to have to go in there and adjust the UVs.
