Has anyone purchased Super Nurbs, and would they suggest the purchase of it.

SuperNurbs will be kinda defunct when C4D 8 comes out. But on the other hand it's pretty cheap, and if you really can't wait it appears to be pretty good at doing what it says.

Having used it I would say wait for 8.....with SuperNURBS you can only weight the entire point, not one axis or the other. So if you wanted to have a tube with sharp edges, for example, you would end up with a very square tube! Heres what I mean...

It does have it's uses but it's not very flexible!

yes weighting in R8 is far easier quicker and has a lot more control, the problems NiekyB is referring to is party due to the fact that now the SDK includes edges which means weighting can be done to edges as well as points, ans if you weight a poly it is acutally wighting both the edges and points at the same time.

Only thing thats nice about SN over R8's is the visual feedback when HN (or SN) is turned off. you can always look at the vertex map to see where things are weighted and by how much, in R8, that kind of visual feedback isn't there, you know something is weighted by turning on HN, otherwise you don't know where it is weighted or not.

i have supernurbs and v8 :)
for xl7 supernurbs is a very good tool ,but not so good like the weighting tools in r8 ! But if you dont update you can some things linke in the new version too. some, only one :)

thank you..I'm loving it here, what with this and the Bhodinut forum, you can't go far wrong when it comes to cinema 4d support.

Can't wait for V8.

I don't know there still a lot over at PF and the cow that just doesn't make it here, and of course C4Dtreff, but I don't speak german so I unfortunately don't go there
