Cool work! :)

However I think the skin between Cheekbone and neck looks a bit weird. This crease running under the cheekbone from one ear to the other does look a bit too unnatural. Maybe you should smooth this a bit :)

Other than that a really glorious image :)

Very nice design and outstanding Char. The only thing which need some work is the SSS on the nose the skin looks like wax.

jasonkey
03-01-2005, 09:31 PM
fantastic. I first noticed your work in the Expose' book. These characters are just begging for a story. I could see these being illustrations for a childeren's book or something. Have you ever thought of developing a story around them?

I also agree about maybe trying to soften the nose a little using SSS or some other method. Unless you are intentionally giving the nose a hard 'beak' type appearance.

I like how you made the jacket - it is just drawing the eyes to itself! It's better than the face. The jacket's detail and textures are very well made. It does copete with face...may be add a bit more light to the shadow part of the face - that both eyes can be visible. It's just my opinion.

This character really has depth - you get a sense of this guy's story from a single image. Great expression and attention to detail. I particularly like the scar across the eye. I went back through the gallery and reviewed the other characters in this series - keep them coming. Very entertaining.

Hey!
You're becoming a CG lengend with this Bird Saga!
I trully wish you could animate one day your 'Bird - people', I can view in my mind a 'noire' style CG animated movie...
I believe you will have a lifetime space for your birdpeople on Exposé, and wish to see your work more times on the front cover!

Thanks for giving us this pleasant art to admire,

Again a very painterly work - wonderful.

reminds me of some of the work of George Underwood and Patrick Woodruffe - oils/acrilics on canvas. They did a lot of album covers in the 1960's / 1970's.

Can I just say, you are my favorite 3D artist on the web! You bring a tremendous sense of personality and character to all your work that is typically lacking in CGI. I really love your sensibilities - the mix of irony and compassion, the meticulous attention to detail, the obvious love for storytelling... All things that I strive for in my own work. Please, keep it up, you are a great inspiration to me - I can't wait to see more!

I love Lady Bird, this eccentric woman with a touch of flair haunts my dreams!

Szevasz Pupi!

Congrats Pupi. I waited to see some newer masterpiece from u, and now it's fulfilled.

This portrait has something that almost none of the other character studies have. Deep emotional expression. It reminds me of Otto Dix, th German Expressionist painter. It has that level of intensity, which is almost always sterlized out of computer graphic art. Truly original.
