The detail is amazing, I love the look more than any CG film I've seen, and as Ice Age is my defending Fav 3D flick, I think Blue Sky should be right up there with Pixar in the amount of movies they can spit out. The gap between Ice Age and Robots is far too long

I totally agree (Ice Age is my fav, and I'm really looking forwards to Robots). The gap is quite long, but i'd rather quality > quantity.

Yeah really, what was Blue Sky Studios doing since 2002 when Ice Age opened?

How long has Robots been in production?

I love blue sky studios. and there diversity. if i remember correctly they worked on alien resurection which had some cool ass swimming aliens. what i hate is when i hear people confuse them with dreamworks. they are ten times better.

These look nice. I love the squash and stretch you can see in some of them. I am really looking foreward to this one too. I think it looks like some great animation. I love the snap it all has to it.

They were rebuilding their studio after the layoffs following "Ice Age".

Thanks for the answer, wondered why there was no more productions by them recently.

Are there any other productions in the works at Blue Sky Studios?

There are, but that's under Non-disclosure at the moment.

Let's just say they are doing pretty well..:)

Great interview, but a one thing got on my nerves a bit, the poster. They used the poster that Blue Sky employees hate because of the mutilation to the logo. ;)

One thing I found the most interesting was that he is now working on a film version of the night listener. I loved the book, although I can't imagine it as a film. I believe he may be incorrect when he says it's based on real events, as far as I know it's a work of fiction. It's a really good book.

What mutiliation to the logo?

Zack

Heh. it's the international version, and Fox took the 3d modeled logo and replaced it with bubble letters.
