I need to get some Cinema4d files(v8.5) to a DTS format. I don't believe there is an exporter to go directly to DTS, so I am using Blender as an intermediate step. Blender users have said the .obj format is probably the best way to transfer the info, but currently I can only get it to transfer the geometry and the material names, but the material info is lost including any applied textures or uv images.
Someone in the Blender forum provided me a Wings export to .obj and it also had a .mtl file. This file worked when both were imported into Blender, at least with the 3 basic materials he had setup. So the question is, can Cinema 4d export a .mtl file? Are there any other workflow suggestions? Right now, I'm looking at rebuilding my textures in Blender. This would not be a huge deal at the moment, but it is not the ideal workflow.
