View Full Version : Finished character - wierd alien animal
BRUTICUS 09-18-2002, 12:43 PM Not sure this belongs here because the character is finished. This is a sort of alien animal I been workin on. Crits and critiques appreciated. I enjoyed building, rigging and animating this character I dont see how something like this could really evolve but it interests me to imagine. I think a lot of people would never go out and build this assuming his head looks too much like a cock. Some people have said to me, "there's a reason thats never been done" He does bend a lot of rules in nature but I figured nature doesn't care if his head looks like a cock so neither will I.

lol! im sure most of us at one time or another have generated "head between its legs" creatures and tossed them out for the obvious reason. kudos to you for actually taking this creature into a full 3d manifestation.

hey thanks guys, glad ya like it. Does he seem to be keeping in balance? Where could it use some secondary animation? I guess you get mostly compliments and not as much critiques in the Finished Work Forum, i'll have to keep that in mind for next time.
Unless someone would mind moving this to the critiques forum,...........i'd appreciate it

looks good. good design, good movement.
things i would work on.
his ankles could use more bending. when he lifts his feet, they kind of just hang on for a ride. make them move and push the animation. bend the toes downward and lead with the ankle
i like the finger animation, but now work on the elbows leading and dragging the hands. right now, it's kind of stiff.
finally, it seems a little slow to me. it might be slow because of his massive weight, if so, make a little clearer by shifting the weight from side to side more (put the weight right over the foot). i dunno, i'm just throwing ideas out now. :)
again, good job. i am always tentative to post crits bc i don't want to come off as an asshole. looks good tho.
Hey mike,
funny work, didnt think you had it already animated for a walk cycle, Looks like it has a lot of potential. good you put it up for critique!
HAHAH
