Archpartners is seeking a senior level digital artist specializing in 3D modeling and animation. A majority of the work will be on high visibility architectural projects. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, with well balanced creative and technical backgrounds, who should be able to collaborate effectively with and lead a team of creative people.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the applicant will be to work closely with the project’s manager, executing all aspects of the process of building and rendering 3D images & animations. In this context, his/her major role in company will include, but will not be limited to:
1) Build 3D architectural models and render images & animations.
2) Help the project leader to asses the budget, technical and human resources needed for each project.
3) Foresee technical and aesthetical challenges of each project, working proactively with the project manager to quickly find solutions to overcome these problems.
4) Work closely with the project’s film director to assure the best possible outcome.
Required Experience
The applicant should have at least four years of proven experience in modeling and rendering 3D images and animations or architectural projects.
Applicants are required to be able to manage all aspects of the modeling / rendering process, building on their own experience to decide upon the technical / aesthetical trade-offs common to complex 3D projects:
1) Experience in animating both, large, complex, urban-scale architectural projects and smaller, highly detailed buildings.
2) Basic understanding of rendering algorithms, including global and local illumination models.
3) Basic understanding of luminaries.
4) Basic understanding of photography concepts.
5) Experience in Distributed Rendering.
6) Proficiency in at least one Rendering/Modeling package. AutoCad knowledge is a plus.
7) Degree in Architecture is a big plus.
Applicants must be able to understand 2D/3D working drawings so as to be able to build 3D models from them. He/she should be client oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be able to quickly understand the client’s aesthetical goals for each project.
