hey guys, this is a total newbie question i know, but here goes :

I'm trying to make a surface across some bevelled text ... it's actually 2 letters which I combined into one curve. after bevelling it, I've been trying to put a surface on, but am unable to achieve the results i want.

the pic is what's happening when i put a planar surface on it ... how can I make the surface go right to the edge? or is there an easier way for me to put caps on the bevel?

edited because my grammar sucks

edit2: ok nvm ... after going thru my books, found out it's a tesselation problem (I think)

In the Attribute Editor pane of the selected planar surface, there is a check box for Display Render Tesselation. This is of good use to see exactly how the surface will actually render - so you can interactively change the tesselation to see what you will get. Welcome to the world of Maya's horrible nurbs tesselation tendencies!!!!

thanks for the tip! I didn't even notice that checkbox. So, what you're saying is, that Maya will always do this? ah man :)
