Hello,

I'm currently working on an animation that supposingly has a claymation feel to it. Problem is I am not able to get the right clay/plasticine texture onto my characters. I've read that some people did cg claymation by using textures of real photographed clay but unfortunately when i used the same way it turned out horrible. Might be something i'm doing wrong?

Does anyone know other ways that might work? Suggestions? I've tried for weeks now and still it's not the look i wanted.

An example of what i hope for :

these are snapshots taken from the game called Platypus, said to have "stunning claymation graphics". url here : http://games.realarcade.com/game?tps=overturet_&ovtac=PI&ovchn=INK&ovcpn=SiteMatch&ovcrn=SMX&gameid=platypus&src=allwebgames

thanks.

There is a plasticene mat in the 3ds resources.texture library section.
Some tweaking can get you what you want . Basically yo need to make some blocky kind of bump maps with a lot of grey and white.
