His name is Belmont and he hunts vampires!

anyways, i am horrible with 2D Concept, so don't laugh too hard at my poor digital cameras shot of my sketches for this character.

I hope this resize feature works.

I've only worked on him for a few hours so far, and I think I'm making good progress, I'm not that great of a high polygon model and i know this model isn't too difficult to make.

please give me your crits.

I have a question on how I should approach the under body, as you can see in the concept art Belmont has an over coat on (it will look good in 3D I promise) but I'm a little 'shaken' as to how i should make the under body since I'm not too much of a High polygon modeler. Should i create just the torso with no arms underneath the over coat, or should i make the arms to go underneath the overcoat.

I'm not sure, you guys are the pro's and model in high polygon frequently so I'm trying to see the best way to approach this.

Sorry for image sizes, i tried to resize them when posting with the resize thing but i guess it doesn't work.

Progress is going niceley, see the tiny 2 dots at the bottom of his vest, yeah i'm working on that (open edges from mesh smooth).

Yes he has man boobies, he's a little pudgey rabbit

the bunny scares me :( reminds me of a rabbit in a russian cartoon i watched when i was like 5 in.. Russia.

Anyways, the modelling is great, but once you get the full rabbit try different materials like, making a cloth for the clothes, and making the fur, colored blue (then he'd be the 3d twin of that scary russian cartoon :S)

To tell you the truth... I think the Shoes could be bigger... and when it comes to the hands and arms... they should be drastically oversized... if you've played Final Fantasy 9 you'd know what im talking about www.ffonline.com (http://www.ffonline.com/) would have scetch pictures (to be specific... http://www.ffonline.com/media/artwork/large/ff9/pic4.jpg and look at the black mage...)... I recon it would look cool with those bigger proportions... thats my $0.02 anyways... other than that it looks like its coming along good... I like it...

thanks for the critique.

well, i think after i post this i like the idea of bigger hands and feet but i think with this over coat he has on now it'll be more suited to have regular size hands and feet. but it would be cool for sure.

i'm not that good at high poly modeling, and definetely not at shaders

but i'm going to be using Ornatrix Hair for the fur, and i am going to see what i can do for the cloth i'm not sure what i'm going to use yet....

Well i'm done working on this model its not getting the response from people I wanted.

I guess you have to pump out unreal 3 quality to even get a reaction from people these days, i guess i'll try my hand at that next.

well i had some help from a guy on mirc (sorry i forgot your name mate) #cgtalk to convince me to keep working on Belmont. I'm doing some serious work on his clothes to make it more detailed.

I've been doing graphics since 1996, so please don't hold back on your critique i need as much of it as i can get.

anyways, the vampire Belmont will be fighting in my short film for my demo reel is starting to look good...

Yes i know big change of style, however this is my first time to EVER do muscles, so i'm going to need some serious critique in this process so you guys PLEASE give me all the critique you can and don't hold back on it.

I'm also trying to get some fabric like ICECUBE has on his The Ripper model but i don't know any shaders, i have a basic fall off color change on Belmonts coat right now but it doesn't look very convincing, i'm also trying to figure out what renderer to use because i'm using Ornatrix hair and i don't know anything about rendering at all.

this will be a hard step for me to complete my demo reel but i have to learn high polygon its a must so the more critique i can get from you guys the better i can become.

so plz assist me.

kthx ;)

PLEASE! i really need your input person who is reading this ;)

i would say study a book of anatomy and have your wire frame follow those mucles so you get correct edge loops for deformations' either that or study wire frames in general. but good start.

belmonts new coat is in this one, it took me forever to get that shader thanks to cg talk for making these shader libs, if anyone wants them i know a link to them!

I already solved the trasnparency problem on his right side where you can see the under jacket showing through the over coat.
I have a new updated version that has a crinkled red shirt underneeth the brown jacket....

i'm having som difficulties with the hair placement of Ornatrix, it is leaving some bald spots on the head that is not looking so well... I'm also having difficulties matching the hands and lower belly fur to match the head.

3D Studio Max is crashing a lot on me with Ornatrix Hair on, since its almost 150,000 strands of hair on the model and then the velvet shader for the jacket and under coat my computer can't handle it it seems, i don't understand what is causing it to crash.
