Hi,

this is a Short Film/Music Video I did for a song for a band of some friends.
It was completely done in Cinema4D except for the character animation, which was done in Maya and brought back to Cinema4D to render using the FBX exchange format.

Waw, o maximo
Gostei muito do ritmo e do 'feeling' da animaçao e a unica coisa que talvez podia ter sido um pouco melhor foi a subida das escadas.

Continua assim que vais bem.

Thanks, those were kind words.

Por acaso a subida das escadas nem é o que me choca mais :-) mas obrigado.
No que diz respeito à qualidade da animaçao, vai ser o meu principal foco no proximo trabalho.

Great job! Really fantastic composition, and editing! The imagery flows very well!

Thanks! One of my main focus was on the editing, flowing and rhythm, which I started working on very early, and by the time I got to the rendering process I had been editing the whole thing for months and had just a few things left to fix which didn't flow that well. There are still some continuity issues that could be better solved, but I just didn't have the time, so I got to fix them with fades and black dissolves, which work, but are not the ideal choice for the final thing.
Anyway, thanks for the comment.

Saw the link in C4D forum...

I really like the slow pace of the whole thing, and as others have pointed out, the poetic mood.

It's great in terms of camera work and lighting, but a bit let down by the imbalance between detailed things versus "unfinished" things. Maybe the character animation could be a little more snappy, but on the other hand it sort of fits well with the overall mood just as it is.

Very moody indeed. Excellent textures and camera work.
I think the idea behind the simple style on character is that 'it could be anyone of us'.

Two thumbs up,

Brilliantly executed piece of aninmation. The music style isn't my cup of tea but hey, with a video like that, who cares? :)

I espesially liked the textures. The ones I liked most was the clouds and moon (is that a camera map?), the floor of the light house with the carpet, the area around the light house's outer door. I also liked your use of DOF very much.

Great work. Let me know when there's more

:-)

It's always fun to see how people interpret your work, and this was definetely left open for interpretations. The simple character was left like that on purpose, it wasn't meant to be a human or any specific creature, it's just a character. I agree it could have had more work and be better finished while still keeping it simple, the model looked better to me then than it does now, but isn't that the case with all the work one does?

Hi there,

I just updated my website:

Meanwhile, "Neptune" won the II Sicarm Computer Animation Festival (Spain) in the Artistic category, which was a huge boost of motivation for my next project.
