I am just loving my PLE version of Maya....Can anyone recommend a good text to buy...kinda like a 'bible' for Maya???
There seems to be a lack of available texts as oppossed to MAX or lightwave...where there's heaps..:(

i think the houdini aprentice cd is much more worthwhile. AND cd 2 comes with over 300 megs of videos covering pretty much every topic of the program.
alias ( and others ) should follow this example.

Sadly I also have to agree compared to LW, Max and even versions 3 or earlier of Maya there is really nothing for Maya 4/4.5. However I have noticed that there are a couple of potentially good books for 4.5 coming out soon. As for V4 the Fundametals is probably the best bet next to just surfing web tut's, which is what you will still need to do after Fundamentals which does not even cover character rigging/IK's.
