Paradise Lost is not a mod. It's a full game developed by a small yet tightly-knit group of specialized programmers, artists and writers.

Team Paradise is looking for dedicated map designers, modelers and texture artists. The first map to be done is a small outdoor demo map showing off the game's water and lensflare effects, to be included in the first tech demo release. If you've ever wanted to use your map designing/modeling/texturing skills in a team environment, you may want to take a look at Paradise Lost.

Thanks for your time.

Since that domain is almost always down, here's a direct link to the server:

I suppose it would be good to have some info here so people know what they're getting into. Well....it's kinda a first person shooter that makes fun of it's self. The strange thing is that the engine only supports .3ds models for now. Everything including maps needs to be .3ds. The good news is that the engine is quite strong at rendering that format (look at the last news entry). For more info including FAQ and project philosophy, look in the dev forum. By the way, that site is only temporary and is only intended to coordinate the team, so it doesn't look that nice.

Concept
As a retired marine, you enjoy your time on the vacation planet (pending). But one day, a terrible alien race conquers this planet to gain a foot hold on the human empire. You pick up some 9-mils and prepare to put up a resistance to the invaders, no matter what the cost.
Gameplay wise, PL will be a mix between Postal 2, Halflife 2, and Freedom Fighters. The concept is comparable to the movie Red Dawn.

And here's an early screenshot. Feel free to laugh. That's what you call "programmer art". Good 'ol generic OpenGL library effects make it look a little less sad though.
