wow! That's pretty neat!
How hard would it be to get a rendering with a different pose? Is it IK'd together?

Very cool, but the render's a little dark.

It's nice... but... why are there black bits between the ribs and the bones? The photoshop work needs a little tidying up. But other than that it's nice (though the material is a little strange, or strangely lit with the blue light) care to show a wireframe?

Hi,PeXel. I love this beast!
I've also visit your website, that's wonderful.
I found this pic is amazing too, can you give me some hint on how to model the bump surface of this mesh? hypernurbs with point editing? boolean? or edge extrude?

The first image is great... cos it's technically quite a challenge to build a skeleton, but that second image is really wonderful because it's such a beatiful image, even though it's not technically anywhere near as complex as the Smielodon, you should post more of your work here. great stuff :). (Good mesh you've got there by the way :) )

do u model in c4d ? like the tulip etc.
peXel
09-19-2002, 06:37 AM
uh no not like the tulip :)))))
the tulip i have done 2 years aGO; with GO.
now with xl7 or r8 you have HN. That makes a lot easier. Some bones are not HN ok, the have just a phong tag. For bones you dont have to subdivide a lot.

i think the specular is a bit high, just looks too glossy for bone

Looks good! The bones are fine with me as most museums exhibit plaster moulded bones covered with varnish....to get that bone coloured effect!
Glad I'm not rigging it!

Very nice
Can you please tell us how much quicker this skeleton was to build in 8 as say opposed to 7? :)
Thanks
Stu.

i dont have used v8 tools. all you see you could do with v7
the vertebral cloumn is from 3dcafe
i cant' model like a 3d scanner :)
the bones are only extruded cubes with a phong tag
the head is made with HyperNURBs
so all to modell have taken 2 days (~10 h)
Ah ok thanks Pexel :) .....for some reason I thought you were a beta tester as well :hmm:.....it must be a brain fart day as I dont where I got that idea from :D

I think he is on the beta team. He didn't say he wasn't--just that he didn't use any tools that aren't available in v.7.

i am a little boy :) and betatester :bounce:
the reasen why i did this modell not with v7: v8 ist better, and nicer! (weighted HN are used in this mech) and you can good test programs if you make something with it :)
