Is there a previous thread discussing the most prominent schools for video game design. Or film and video game combination?

I tend a school in Sweden called 'Blekinge Tekniska Högskola' and a program there in called (directly translated) 'Digital Games' which is very nice program focused on either Game Design or Game Tech. It's a great school with superb teachers but this is only my first year so... =)

We still don't have our own website since it's a new program but the school can be reached at: http://www.bth.se

I'm going to a 2 year long college education in Karlshamn Sweden called SOFE (School Of Future Entertainment).
On this school you can either study Game programming (C++ and DirectX) or animation (for both games and movies).

I'm studying game programming myself. The best part of the school, is that it is totally concentrated to games development.

And every year, we have a competition, where each group has to develop a Game Concept and present it to a jury containing people from the gaming buisness. The winners gets 6 months free to develop the concept and chance to sell the idea to a publisher, and prehaps get the chance to fully develop and sell the game later on.

Digipen (http://www.digipen.edu (http://www.digipen.edu/)) and Full Sail (http://www.fullsail.com (http://www.fullsail.com/)) are the two most prominant schools in the US.

Digipen is pretty nice, I visited it once. I may apply there for Grad School. You can learn probably just as much at a regular 4 year university just doing the gamedev stuff on the side using the interent (which is almost recommended because if you decide you don't want to do game design, you probably want a more generally applicabel degree). The other cool thing about digipen is it is actually physically attached to Nintendo of America. It's located in Redmond, Washington.

I don't know much about Full Sail.

Good luck!
