View Full Version : WIP: Female Subject with Mild Background

Hello, perhaps someone could throw a little feedback this way.
Aside from some general cleaning up in the full res file, I feel this work is somewhat incomplete and lacking something... something I can't seem to put my finger on.
However I do not want to detract from a sweeping "Clean" feel by throwing in unnecessary detailing (ex: fully detailing the deco city) as the overall mood is supposed to be light and clutter-free.
I would like to avoid: Text, Vehicles, or anything extraordinary.
Also- I think I should remove the building steam. It is a little distracting. (yes / no?)

nice:) it really looks disneyesque..with sexuality thats NOT hidden:P
i like it:)
i think the far side of the pillow could look a bit more fluffier, the edges look too sharp to be fluffy
id say leave the buildings in, they dont attract the eye right away which is what you want, it provides good eye space for later while they are looking:)
and yea...the pillow is it that i can find...btw...i LOVE that flower...great job:)

You gotta love that good old grass brush :)

hjalmar - Thanks for the input. The pillow "fluff" seems to be a good idea; it blends the effect a lot better.
Pixelcritter - Who doesn't love the grass brush? The finest one since the blood splatter brush.
I decided the background was lacking in depth and redid it featuring a curved wall. The basic frame shape is the same but the general feel is largely different.
I will, however, have to add something to the many blank spots along the wall (Subtle details, most likely).

Making the wall curved did make a huge difference. It gave your piece alot more depth. Lookin good.
Oh by the way, can i have her number? :D

Can't ever have too much depth!
There was too much blank space in the right corner so I shifted the entire wall towards that region.
Also added some light detailing and scratches on panels.

i think the left corner needs something too...maybe a jet in the distance? just the smoke line and a small dab of paint for the plane...just something for the eye to roam over
its a thought
looks great otherwise:) the fluffyness looks great:)
