Ok. I've searched threads and have seen talk of freezing displacement maps using DiTools. Can this be done in v9 without this set of what looks to be very useful tools?

I donīt know what you mean with freezing displacement. But I assume you mean to bake the resulting deformation the displacement feature does into the geometry of the mesh? This isnīt possible, unfortunately, as far as I know.

You should be able to do this with Jenna as well. v2.2 is now free in 3D World Issue 62 (on the shelves in Europe, and due stateside soon).
So until then...we gotta wait. :D

That's correct Tonfarben--bake displacement.
Oh, I'm licking my chops for the next 3dWorld mag to come out. Sounds like that Jenna is really going to be useful.
