Title: 1963 Corvette Sting Ray
Name: Mark Van Haitsma
Country: United States
Software: 3ds max

Hey all. Here's a Corvette model that I just completed. I picked it up and finished it this weekend after not touching it since Christmas break. I felt obligated to finish it after I left it at an unfinished state for so long. Anywho, C&C are welcome.

The famous 63 split window corvette :love:Very well done, I love the details!!

A few minor crits if you don't mind...

1) The seats!!!... I can't recall ever seen a vette with those type of seats :D (they look more like something from a foxbody mustang)

2) Perhaps is the angle, but the little chrome part of the "front turn signal" looks painted black... (If it was the wrong shader, then it's easy fix...)

Beautifull work...

Thanks for all the great comments guys, I appreciate it.

leo- good call on the chrome shader on the turn signals. it had the body material on it and i didn't notice. As for the seats, now that i look at all my reference there was only one of them that had the headrests on them. I kind of like em though, so i'm gonna keep them.

No problem...
I also notice one more thing, but I forgot to mention. (I knew I forgot something, but I couldn't rember what it was :wise: )

As far I rember, the frame wind-shield was not painted the same color of the car... instead it was chromed, but I might be wrong.

Awesome job!!!

i like that glass shader and reflections there.. it's flawless.. chrome shader is perfect too, what i don't like are tires, tread modeling (or texture?) especially

leo- That one might be just the camera angle( if you mean the trim section that goes around the windsheild and beteewn the windows down the side) because it has a chrome shader on it. Thanks again for the comments.

furo- Thanks for the comment. Yea, the tire tread is modeled. by the way, i really liked your H2 model. I get motivated to keep getting better when i see the level of detail in models like yours, keep up the good work.

Error404 - Thanks. I was talking to another guy here at work that graduated from the Art Institute just a few days ago about your models. the new hot rod you made is sweet.

Nice modeling, but background is very simple and HDRI usually.

Very impressive, in every detail. I would not even have noticed the tire thing if the other poster hadn't mentioned it, but then again the car might be wearing "slick" tires for all he knows.

nice work but the main thing that bothers me is the 63 vette has sharper bodylines and edges than what I see here.
