View Full Version : Tricky dirtmap & transparency problem

hhhmm, so I'm really scratching my head with this one :) Hoping there's a simple solution. Is there any way that anyone can think of to get Dirtmap to respect transparency values? Right now, my glasses are being occluded as If they're solid and not transparent, giving an undesirable darkness around the eyes from the glasses. Any bright ideas? Any help appreciated!

the fast dirty way:) just leave the glasspart out of the dirtmap alltogether

Maybe I'm being super dumb here. How would I do that? Dirtmap is plugged into the ambient colour of his face, so I'm not sure how I would exclude the glasses unless they're simply not in the scene. Am I missing something obvious? :)

Exactly that. Delete them for the occlusion pass.

Ah so you mean render the occlusion pass seperately? Doh yeah, hadn't thought about that. thanks!

There is a far better way. Just turn off visible in reflection/refraction. Its a raytracing node, so those 2 flags will make it invisible to the dirt shader.
