Hello, :)

I am getting back into Max after a few years with Maya. When moving verts and edges...etc In Maya the gizmo moves with it. But I noticed in Max 5 when in Editable Mesh or Editable Polygon modes when I move (verts, faces, edges) the gizmo stays put wile the vert moves. This is kind of anoying. If Discreet is going to rip off Maya they should at least do it all the way. Or maybe they did and there is a way to add this feature in a preference or something like that? I don't want my ignorance to get the best of me so if any of you have any solutions it would be great... if its even possible in Max5.

You just need to change your "Use Selection Center." It's that flyout button just to the right of the CoordinateSystems dropdownlist. You can set your gizmos to go off of:

Pivot Center
Selection Center
Transform Coordinate Center

For some reason I don't think that's what he meant.

To answer your question, I don't think that's possible. NOT positive though, so if someone knows a way... pipe up.

I could be wrong, but I'm sure this "feature" was only introduced in Max4 and a lot of people complained about it then. It doesn't actually bother me, in fact I must admit I hadn't even noticed it in a long time, but now that you mention it it is kinda stoopid.

I actually kind of like it not to move with the selection because it doesn't get in the way. All you see moving is the part you should be focusing on :)
