Title: Amped
Name: Dale John Williams
Country: Australia
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop

This piece I've titled "Amped". It's my attempt at photorealistic modelling and textures. The guitar and amp are supposedly set inside a musical instruments store.

Cheers.

The amp looks gorgeous. I am drooling here. The guitar reflection seems a bit much, and the knobs look like much lower res than the rest.

you should add some decals around the nobs, give it some extra kick, nice work on the amp

Very realistic, I think you only have to work a bit more with the amp(head).
Btw, EMG pickups sounds a bit to undefined, I like DiMarzio instead.:D

Thanks for the crique so far. :)

The lack of decals on the guitar actually comes from the guitar itself, the idea of the project was to model a photorealistic scene that could be believable, and I chose the guitar I wish to purchase next: an LTD EC400. The guitar knobs actually have a material bump replicating the knobs' bumps but it is hard to show in such a lowres image. I will try to get the hi-res image from the college computers. :)

It's just an LTD, a basic model too, but anything has to be better than my Epiphone (lay off, guitar prices in Aus are HUGE.)

i have a Epiphone too ... a les paul baritone, quite similar to the one you created, which BTW is pretty good, and wanted to buy a Gibson Les Paul Gothic ... but it was a tad too expensive, given my skills

My Epiphone is dated, and a lower model (the LP100), the hardware is all rusting up, and it's not like I havn't been taking care of it. Either way, I gather we should stop talking guitars and rather talk 3D. :) cheers.

I'm not a pro at photorealism myself but...somehow it's not coming to me as being realistic. It looks...what's the word...stylized but "realistic". Whatchamacallit...surrealism? I donno...anyway...I hope to see it in high res...becuz if this is low res...WOW...

btw...the objects infront...are getting there...but the ones at the back...not believable to me (except for that green poster, top-back)...Keep at this...I have a very strong feeling you're getting there...
