For no apparent reason my monitor went totally black, as if off (but it's not off), while playing HL2-DM.
The only thing I can think of would be the ocassional error message I get saying:
"The instruction at "0x2406dd69" referenced memory at "0x0107facc". The memory could not be "read"."
Could the 2 be related? Or what else could it be?

Thanks,

DPC

sometimes when windows cuts off with an error like that, the video card may cut out as well which will produce that blank screen. I would investigate the stop/error message and see if u can find a fix.

I've been getting that a lot lately.

I think its unrelated to your other error. What video drivers and card are you using.

I find that when doing graphically heavy games it cuts out constantly. But othertimes it doesnt.

It may be to do with your gpu overheating, ...because I get it more at night when my pc has been on all day...

What kind of monitor and vid card is it?

Is it an LCD?

Im running a 9800se

It might also be a cpu problem.

I changed my power supply thinking it was causing it.
