CGTalk - streaks on renders

hi. when i do a render i get black streaks that arent there before rendering. why? heres an example of what i mean

can anyone help me get rid of this cos i keep having to cover them up in photoshop post render.

Most likely there's something wrong with your model. Can't tell exactly what without seeing the model (or at least the wireframe). Could be anything from overlapping polygons to 3 subd polys connected to same edge.

ive fixed it now, its cos the polygons were 4 pointed and id placed the points so that the polygons werent flat, ive divided them into 3 point polygons now so its fixed, thanks anyway :thumbsup:
