Hi all,
here's my latest project - a sitfire lookalike WW2 fighter. I finished the modeling, UV-mapping and I'm now finishing off the texturing.
I'm now also planning the context/scene in which this fighter will appear.
Created in C4D.

I plan to try an airplane one day, I think yours looks pretty good, I don't know much about if anything is outa place, but I think you did a good job, more texturing will be cool to see and a nice fighting scene also, smoke and so on,, hehe I'll check back to see how it goes. :D
pretty accurate in recreating spitfire. I love the modeling,
The texturing could use some more revision? the decals are a bit too saturated. and the wings exhaust spot( DOnt know what it's called in english) are dirty, but the exhaust near the nose of the plane is a bit too clean.
other than that, good job
cheers,
HB

Its very nice modelling and the textures are coming along really good.
The model is very inaccurate in shape and outline though. However for the casual viewer who don't know aircraft very well it should make a nice rendering or animation.
For any future aircraft you might want to have a look at this site which has more accurate blueprints than your currently using. http://win.www.airwar.ru/other/draw_fw.html.

thanks for the link kevjon. It will come in handy in future projects.
"the decals are a bit too saturated" - yes you're right pum.
"the exhaust near the nose of the plane is a bit too clean" - maybe.
Any other comments about the texturing?

The colours on your roundels are too intense.
Try these RGB colours for the roundels & rudder bar
Blue 6/20/59
Red 168/24/24
Yellow 241/178/26
I would also tone down the white a bit as it looks too bright.
The propellors usually had yellow tips. The yellow band on the leading edge of the wing usually extended out to the tip of the wing. The propellor boss was usually painted sky as per the rear fuselage band.
You could improve the textures by adding some fading and weathering and maybe a bit more paint chipping around the wing walk where the pilot jumps into the cockpit. The stains on the wings where the guns are is a bit too heavy. Adding some exhaust staining to the fuselage could also help bring it to life.

Good work I agree on t e past statement about weathering. Also increase the specularity. I looked long at museum pices and at photos and most are more specular than most people portray them in their pictures and models. Great work keep it up.

Good tips, thanks!
"increase the specularity" - yes, but is a later setting that I will tweak along with the light setting in the final scene.
Here'e another render with fictional decals. Just for fun.

hi, your work is very nice and inspiring !
I have some questions about the last render. The work seems to be in its last legs, but these heavy specularity in the nose and the wings don't match with that would be an airplane in the middle of the clouds... anyway your last render is very nice... I would work a bit more in textures... more dirty and so on... like this one
