Supervlieg, Art2 -- thank you :} I love him much. He's a rather strange cat. Delightfully evil, and clever only when he feels like it and there's something to gain from it.

And, nooo, no killing cat topics :/ I can deal with the comic-like versions of it (though even seeing my comic-Azrael getting slaughtered makes me feel a little ill), but for some of us, a killing-cat thread will be just as unsettling as a kill-a-baby thread. I'd just not like it at all. Of course, not up to me to decide, but I've lost a couple of cats I loved very dearly and thought of as family, it would just make me a bit sick. If we do a thread like that, I vote that we do a castrate-a-guy thread at the same time ;]

What i meant by "ways to kill a cat" and the schrodingers' cat experiment, was just to give examples for the topic of "things to do with a cat and some spare time"... you can also have something like "breed them with iguana's to make a race of supersomethings" or "COLLECT THEM ALL!" or i dunno what :)

I had a very uncomfortable experience regarding something similar. I spent some time in England many years ago, and before I left, my family had two cats that I loved very dearly. I was only going to be gone for ten weeks, but after half that time, one of the cats died. My family decided they would not tell me until I got back home (knowing how devastated I'd be, and not wanting me to have to deal with that on my own). During my visit in England, I found this really stupid little book I thought was so funny, it was called "A Hundred and One Uses of a Dead Cat", it really was amusingly drawn and quite amusing.

When I got home and found out about the cat that had died (Lupus was his name, adorable, wonderful, huge Norwegian Forestcat), I was unpacking my bag and came upon the book. I can't look at it without remembering the pain I felt just then.

Enayla, - I can imagine how you feel. I’m very fond on cats too. I got a black/white male myself. He is very dependable/attached on me. He has no teeth and drools mostly of the time. But I can tell he is happy. At the age of 13 he still chases his tail, fight other cats and fake-attacks me. =)

llikesoup and supervlieg... i can't believe i'm actually developing this conversation here.. hehe but here goes anyway:
the matter this question deals with, at least in its original intention, or the notion it represents, is wheather or not things happen the way we know them to, if we are not there to observe them.
there are different levels of "truth", everyone has his own truth which is defined by his perception abilities (eyes, ears etc.) his filters and evertually what his mind makes out of it including all the mental distortions and the senses internally affecting each other.. this question asks if there is a "total truth" to which all our interpretations pertain in different orientations. I can't see how a logical mind can even converse about this question beyond philsophical punning.
In this sense the schrodingers' cat experiment is similar. The cat is both alive and dead until we observe him. of course, in the schrodingers' cat experiment the heart of it isn't the philosophical matter but the physical (quantum mechanics) aspect.

I finally finished this piece. Thought I'd get back on the people who fed me to the fishies, squashed me in my claustrophobic cage and chased me with a fork & knife in the middle of the night. Oh and there's Azrael too, he didn't do anything he's just cute. And oh yeah, I'm exacting revenge through Supervlieg. Cause I think his genocide was actually more like this:

I would've finished this one earlier as I said (it's now past 5 in the morning yaaawn) but this is what happened. After the exam I went home and started watching Dog Soldiers (great movie btw). As I was watching the power throughout all the University campus went off (blackout)... and it was dark outside... and I was just watching a movie with werewolves. Thing is I was in the middle of an exciting scene where a dude was holding a blue light while assaulted by werewolves. So while waiting in the dark for the power to come back on, my roommate came inside and gave me a freakin heart attack when he opened the door. And just as if it wasn't enough he thought he'd make some light with his cellular phone... which has a FREAKIN BLUE LIGHT!!! Just like in the movie so I was freaked out really good until someone came with a lit candle pheeeew :cry:
