Looks a little too teeny-bopper to me.

And the Thing looks like a burn victim.

I am quite possibly the 5th biggest Fantastic 4 fan in the world....and I have to say i am a little disapointed.

the Thing looks like a burn victim.

I believe that in the comics, initially, the Thing looked almost exactly like that (though much taller).

His appearance only changed to the rocky look weīve grown to know and love much further down the road, once the effects of the cosmic rays and Reedīs experiments to cure him started to settle down.
Canīt wait to hear Johnny scream his first "Flame on!".

I wonder what will Stan Leeīs cameo be, this time.

From watching an early behind the scenes video, I think he's the postman who gives Reed his mail. I believe he actually has a few lines too.

Well, heīs sure climbing the ladder.
In SpiderMan he had one line (Look out!), in Hulk I think he had another (something about "upgrading the complexīs security") and now he has two. WTG!

Brad Pitts of the world, look out! :)

Could they pick any less talented actors, with this linup of "great actors" its gone be a B movie with good special effects. Is it just me or does looks somehow excuse poor acting.

I actually like the fact that they chose no-names for this.
Christopher Reeve was a no-name when he was cast for the Superman role.

Now I may not consider Alba the next Glen Close, but if she can deliver a believable Sue Storm, then Iīm game. Itīs not like these flicks ever get nominated for Best Actor/Actress anyway.

And with a cast of no-names, theyīre free to channel the funds to better SFX which, hate it or love it, is the mani reason why Iīll be going to the theatre when it comes out. :)

i'm not saying this looks fantastic...sorry..couldn't help myself...but what's the last movie everyone was like, hey, who are those people? (ok, so a few of them have some good roles, and one's a knight, but still, most of them American's didn't know)...hmmm? oh yah, Lord of the Rings. Did you know who Miranda Otto was? or even remember what Elijah Wood had been in other than that dolphin movie, and Sean Astin...wasn't he that goonies kid who played football or something? you see my point. Names don't make a good movie, F4 (what they will inevitably call it, and i'll always think of my keyboard) may or may not be good, but the effects sure look like they're going to rock. and i'll give the actors a chance, Alba was actually good in Dark Angel.

I'm excited for it. I'm working w/ most of the lighting crew that did fan4, and they tell me its going to be awesome.

I have nothing against superhero movies but the trailer seemed a bit slow and dull...but on the other hand, so did the trailers of The Incredibles.

Thing looks disgusting. That whole borrow your car scene just turned me off completely. Another special effects no story crap fest. Although I was surprised by spiderman 2 and x-2 so I am kinda torn. Maybe I'll wait for it to hit the cheap theaters so I won't feel so bad if I have to just get up and leave. I long for the day when somebody just stands up in a theater and yells out "goddammit this movie SUCKS!!!" I think I'd pee myself laughing so hard.

Does anybody remember the episode of Venture Bros on cartoon network when they spoofed the fantastic four. the human torch could never have contact with the air because if he did he would spontaneously combust. I was screamin laughing as his air tight capsule was opened and he ran around the room engulfed in flames and screaming in pain " It burns, It burns!!"

Well, first let me say, I've been around since FF issue #1. (Yeah, I'm THAT old). And with the exception of the actor playing the Torch, the characters look EXACTLY like the Jack Kirby-Joe Sinnot illustrated-inked characters in the origional mags. I didn't hold out much hope for this when the origional "rumor-mill" started a few years back, but I must say it looks to be slowly winning me over. Although I'm not too sure about the "cosmic-caused-steel-plated" Dr. Doom, but if one is going to take the leap that the cosmic rays gave the other four their powers, I suppose it makes better sense to have VonDoom there with them and change rather than being horribly disfigured trying to contact the "nether-world" as in the origional comic. I don't think it will enjoy the success that Spiderman has, but maybe it'll be better than X2, which I thought kinda dropped the ball.

That was the original Human Torch, an android built in the 40īs.

If I remember it correctly, just like DC had two superheroes named The Flash (Wally West inherited Barry Allenīs sneakers), Marvel had 3 characters using the Human Torch name of which Johnny Storm (Fantastic Four) is the 3rd.

I may be a tad biaised, being a comic artist and all, but I really am not uncorfortable with this "invasion of the superhero movies".
Itīs like "the invasion of the CG films", we just have to get usd to them.
People adapt from books, people adapt from tv series, people adapt from theatre plays....why not comicbooks?
Itīs the way they handle them that Iīm usually concerned about.

i loved that Venture bros (of course i love all of them, it's one of my favorite adult swim shows) the invisiible woman's skin being the only thing that disappeared was great too, i wish they had done more to Mr Fantastic other than make him an ass though.
