Intersting movie. Great models, especially the cars. For the most part, everything looks believable. One of the best parts is the car colliding with the blocks at the beginning. Well done--It looks very dynamic. Models look great, and everything.

If I had to pick the worst part, it would be the basketball player. The modeling and everything looks great, but he is just a little too stiff. I don't know if he needs to loosen up a little bit, or the fact that he freezes for a partial second before it cuts to the next scene. I just wanted to let you know; you could leave it and probably get away with it, or experiment with it to make it even better.

Overall, I think that the demo looks great though.

First off please make it a right-click and downloadable link, as it is a fairly large file and it's nice to know how long it's going to take to download!

This might come off as harsh but I think your reel needs some work. It's far too long - reels should be 2 mins max these days. Only the best work needs to go in. You have a lot of basic stuff in there which won't improve your chances of getting work.

The lighting and rendering part of the reel doesn't really sell your work as that, because it's mostly GI of FG stuff which anyone can do with the right buttons - what people are looking for is work which conveys a mood or atmosphere and most of the work doesn't show this. I'd work on some traditional 3 point lighting setups.

The animation part of the reel is really short and has some objects just spinning through screen, I'd lose those completly. The horse run cycle needs more overlap and offsetting of limbs.

the modelling part is ok but you need to show some wireframes otherwise how can people judge whether the model would be good to animate with?

Hope some of this helps...

Hi guys, thanks a lot for the crits, they really help.
Sadly enough, I did not model the cars, that is why I put them in the Lighting/rendering section. The basketball player either. But mostly everything else is mine.

I am 15 years old, and work for my brother, so I am not too worried about impressing studios YET. If you guys have any more crits that would be GREAT, thanx a bunch!

Its not right clickable... I waited for it quite awhile, but had to cancel.
How big? and can you host it somewhere else?

still not right clickable though. You need a better host.

You're only 15?! Bloody hell... Well pretty impressive stuff then, when I was 15 I was creating black and white pixel animations with Dpaint on the amiga (1meg ram)... How times change :)

Still stand by my comments though - but if you keep working by the time you leave school you'll have a better reel than most grads out there. Keep it up!
