hey all,
Probally a simple answer but how to shade a snooker or pool ball?

For example using Nurbs how is it possible. I have experimented using a ramp and can get a circle within a circle but when i map a number from a picture file to the inside of that circle, thats a no no. Anyone know what im talking about?>

Spherical mapping, no tricks, heres a scene with a poly sphere for you to have a look at, saved it as an *.ma file for you, made with maya 6.01, cant help you with nurbs, never textured them, better investigate uv editing.

You could map the number onto one of the ramps colours, I think that would work.

dudders, thats where the problem lies. Because its nurbs the isoparms meet in the middle and the text becomes scewed
