I'm trying to create a cliff face for a project i'm wokring on I've made the cliff face using a DEM I found but now I got a problem when it comes to texturingthe surface.

I'm using 3DMax6 and know that its possible to create a shader in maya that has different textures depending on the angle that the face is at. How would you go about this in max ? even better if anyones got any decent tips for creating a decent cliff face texture then it would be much apreciated

Cheers

use a falloff map in the diffuse slot. you can then stick textures into the two falloff map slots.

Here's a pretty in-depth tutorial on the subject.
